Crunchy Coated Peanuts - Peanut Burger Recipe- Peanut Snack



Crunchy coated peanuts are popular snacks in West African especially in Nigeria where is commonly referred to as peanut burger snack. This delicious burger snack is inexpensive and kids like it a lot even adults too.
Peanut snacks are basically groundnut coated with flour, egg, and other ingredients mixed and fried in hot vegetable oil to dry.
It an easy to make snacks for home consumption or it can be fried for commercial purposes a means of livelihood for some individuals.
Are Peanut Snacks Healthy?
Peanuts are a good source of fats that are healthy, protein, and fiber. They also contain magnesium, potassium, and phosphorous. So, peanut snacks are healthy to eat as they contain vitamin B which is also important for the proper functioning of the body cells. They help create new cells in the body, maintains brain cells, body tissues, and healthy skin.
How to make Crunchy Coated Peanuts
Ingredients
·        2 cups of roasted groundnut/peanuts
·        1 cup of all-purpose flour
·        ½ cup of cornflour
·        ¼ cup of sugar
·        1 tablespoon baking powder
·        2 eggs
·        ½ teaspoon nutmeg powder
·        Pinch of salt
·        Vegetable oil for frying

Method of Preparation
1.     First of all, select the groundnut by removing the broken ones and using only the unbroken groundnuts for this recipe, moreover, for this recipe I used fried peanuts.
2.     Secondly, whisk the egg and sugar together to achieve foamy consistency.
3.     Thirdly, mix the flour, corn, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt, after that mix all properly.
4.     Add 2-3 spoons of the mixed flour into the whisked egg and whisk until batter is smooth.
5.     Place the groundnut/peanut in a bowl then scoop in a small amount of the egg and flour mixture into it. Shake it to enable the egg coat the peanut then sprinkle dry flour and shake it will cover the groundnut.
6.     Continue to repeat the process by adding the egg mixture and dry flour mixture 3-4 times for each batch. After that transfer it into a sieve and shake to remove any excess flour, set aside ready for fry.
7.     Finally, heat your vegetable oil an fry to brown with constant stirring, when properly fried, remove and transfer into a sieve to drain oil.
However, if its for sale measure into a tight container and supply to client/customers else store in the fridge.
