Fried Plantain Recipe - How to Fry Plantain | Dodo



Fried plantain is that sweet golden yellow delicious dish that can be eating alone or serve as a side dish. How to fry plantain is one of the easiest ways of cooking. You can never go wrong making a perfect fried plantain recipe. This can be done by simply slicing some ripe plantains, heat your vegetable oil and stir in the sliced plantain and fry till golden brown on both sides.

Nigerian fried plantain is a popular food commonly called "Dodo" It's a staple food in most African Countries. This Caribbean dish pair very well with virtually all meal due to its versatile nature; how about a sweet Cuban fried plantains which is also refer to as cooking banana.

However, homemade fried plantain/dodo can be served with rice recipes, beans, fried eggs, plantain with fish, or with a spicy tomato sauce as dipping.

Furthermore, plantains can serve as snacks such as chips; ripe or unripe chips recipe and plantain balls when mixed with flour.

How to Fry Plantain - Dodo Fried Plantains Recipe

Ingredients

·        3-4 ripe Plantains

·        Salt to taste

·        Vegetable oil for frying

 

Instructions

1.     First and foremost, wash cut off both edges and peel the skin, thereafter, slice the plantains into a bowl. Secondly, sprinkle with salt and toss to mix properly and set aside.

2.     Thirdly, in a frying pan, heat your vegetable oil and gently stir in the sliced plantains (space it out dont overcrowd the frying pan with plantain).

3.     Lastly, fry until color turns golden brown then flip to the other side and fry to desired browning, remove from heat and transfer into a sieve. Fry the next batch using the same process until none is left.

4.     At this point you delicious fried plantain recipe is complete.

Serve and enjoy either as a side dish or as a main course meal!
